We are sending this email to remind everyone that the call for papers deadline for the McMaster Graduate Student Classics Conference on March 18, 2017, ‘Identity and Representation in Graeco-Roman Antiquity’, is coming up on December 2nd.
The conference theme invites a broad field of paper topics discussing identity and/or representation in the public, private, religious, social, or cultural spheres. Papers may address the expression of these and other forms of identity in various areas, including myth and symbolism, literature, funerary commemoration and burial practices, portraiture and other art, regional architecture, laws and other customs.
We welcome students of ancient history, archaeology, and philology with diverse approaches to the questions of not only how the ancients viewed themselves, both personally and collectively, but also how they viewed their past and the world around them.
Abstracts of no longer than 300 words should be submitted electronically to Amanda Devitt at email@example.com.
